Paw after the other, a silk blue dog like Pokemon with white ribbons extending from its back as tails. Silently, he stepped on the water. The only sound in the forest was the soft ripples of the water as he lifted his paws. A light shone down and it seemed as everything was dark besides that one ray of light. Looking up, his red eyes gleamed as the sun and moon showed themselves as one.
A shining moon, as bright as could be was the only single thing lit in the solemn sky. "What do you see...?" He asked the moon. Knowing it couldn't answer, he slowly closed his eyes. "Fate no longer exists in the eyes of the world. Everything makes its own path... but who isn't to say thats also what Fate predicted?" He opened his eyes and a reflection not his own was reflected in the water. Looking closer, it still made no clear shape. Suicune growled at the figure and it disappeared, right before his eyes.

Riolu looked around. "Suicune lake? You got to be joking me? I haven't seen him at all!" Riolu had been looking forward to seeing the legendary pokemon. It was said this is where he spent half of his time. He didn't really care if they fought or not, but he at least had to meet the pokemon of legend. He looked up, and stopped quickly. His mouth opened wide, then he smiled.
He couldn't believe it! It was Suicune himself! He started to panic, not knowing if he should go up and talk to him or not. He then took another look at him. Something about him seemed different than what Riolu had expected. He seemed a little less of a fierce warrior than what Riolu had imagined him, but imagining about what Suicune would be like was over. He ran quickly over to Suicune. "Hey, uh, hi Suicune!" Riolu said shakily, "My name's Ranger!"

"....Hello...Ranger." The blue wolf barked calmly as he noticed the hyper Riolu. "What's a pup like you doing in a place like this?" Suicune asked. An rainbow aurora began to shimmer in the water and he began to step off the beautify clear lake to properly meet his visitor.

Ranger just couldn't believe it. He had spoken to Suicune and everything! He then remembered that legendary pokemon like suicune were just like normal pokemon, but stronger. "Oh, well, I just wanted to meet you Suicune! I mean you're an amazingly strong pokemon! I've heard that you are usually here, so I decided to come see if what I've heard was true!" He saw as Suicune stepped onto the water to come over to him. It was amazing to see the rainbow aurora that he made as he walked.
He wasn't sure what to think now. He had many stories of the legendary pokemon, but a story was much different than seeing the pokemon in real life. Ranger then remembered something. "Suicune, what were you thinking about? I mean before I came over here. It looked you had something on your mind."

"Oh nothing of any concern." The mighty Pokemon barked and looked at Ranger. He sat down on his haunches and smiled at his fan. "Legendary Pokemon are only different due to rarity and power. With alot of training you could be as powerful, if not more powerful than any legendary." He barked and sighed. He enjoyed the pup's company but he kept wondering what he saw in the water.

Ranger smiled as he heard Suicune say that he could be as strong as a legendary pokemon, if he really tried that is. He had once heard his older brother say something along those lines. If he remembered he had said that Legendary pokemon are just pokemon that are in smaller numbers. Of course he had been saying that there just isn't as many legendary pokemon as there is others. He missed his older brother sometimes. He remembered the day that his brother left and went on his journey to challenge every single legendary pokemon out there. Apparently he failed, Ranger wanted to follow in his footsteps, but he just wasn't strong enough to go on an adventure like that.
He turned to look at Suicune. "Suicune I've heard that you are one of the strongest pokemon ever. And in my mind I think the only way to become strong, is by challenging the strongest pokemon out there. So would you accept my challenge to battle?" Ranger knew he probably didn't stand much of a chance against Suicune, but he had to see what skill level he was on, compared to a pokemon as strong as Suicune.

".....?" Suicune looked at the Pokemon in astonishment. "A battle hmmm? But your just a pup." He smiled and his purple eyes grew soft and he nodded. "Okay, very well. We'll have a battle." He barked and smiled.

Ranger became excited as he heard Suicune agree to the battle. He really hadn't had many battles in his lifetime, but he had seen his older brother in more than he could count. He smiled as he remebered his brother getting into fights. One day he hoped that he would be just like him. Ranger backed up quickly and waited for Suicune to make the first move. He had learned that waiting for your opponent to make the first move could be a great strategy. Sometimes that is. If anyone were to see this battle they would probably have a hard time not chuckling, Ranger thought. Who would be able to blaim them? A small pokemon like Ranger going up against Suicune? It wasn't exactly ordinary.
He waited patiently for his opponent to make an attack. He relaxed his body, not wanting to be too tense, his brother had told him many times how that could be a serious promblem. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He probably wouldn't win this battle, but he would show Suicune what he was made of.

Suicune smiled and was a little touched by the pup's courage. He noticed that Ranger was waiting for him to make a move and he thought he may as well start out easy. An aura floated above him, sending many shimmering colors into the atmosphere. Opening his mouth, a rainbow ball began to form. Gathering power, he launched it at his opponent. He knew that if Riolu were to dodge it or even copy it, it wouldn't do himself any damage.

Ranger waited anxiously and patiently for Suicune to make an attack. He looked in awe as he saw Suicune create and aura above him and send shimmering colors into the area. He almost got so busy admiring the attack he forgot that he and Suicune were in a battle. He snapped back and prepared himself for whatever move Suicune was going to throw at him. He waited and saw Suicune fire a rainbow ball at him. He quickly dodged the attack by moving to the right. Now it's my turn, he thought to himself. He started moving with amazing speed in a zig zag line trying to tackly Suicune in the side.
Quick attack may not have been as powerful and graceful as Suicune's last attack, but it allowed the user to move very fast, so it was hard to counter it, or dodge. And Suicune was a big enough target, Ranger was almost positive he wouldn't miss. He then thought, and remembered not to underestimate his opponent, or think of his abilities too highly. That could easily bring about his defeat.

Suicune allowed the quick attack to hit him then he turned and blew a strong gust at his opponent. He knew the move would hurt the pup alot and it mad him feel kind of bad. Nonetheless, His attack covered the whole arena and there was almost no chance to dodge the attack. The aura lingered in the sky, giving the arena a sparkling atmosphere.

Ranger felt a little proud as he noticed his attack hit Suicune. He was a little surprised as well. He didn't even really have to try as hard as he thought he would. Was Suicune holding back on him? He got his answer after he hit him with the quick attack. He saw as Suicune countered using a huge gust of wind. The power and size of the wind was amazing, and the pain matched the power and size. The gust threw Ranger back as he landed in the ground having a couple of scratches. He slowly rose to his feet. He was losing, bad. But the weird thing was he kind of liked it.
The thrill the battle was giving him was incredible. And he was fulfilling a childhood dream. He was actually fighting Suicune! A legendary and one of the most powerful pokemon ever. The power he had, just made Ranger want to continue the fight. That attack hurt him a lot, and it was hard moving, he didn't exactly know which of the moves that he had learned would be the best. Using a close range attack like force palm or quick attack again wouldn't work so he decided on the most reasonable attack.
He used copycat so that he could use the last move used by his opponent, which was gust. He made a huge gust of wind appear and fired it at Suicune.

Gust neither hurt nor moved the Blue legendary dog. He stood his ground and countered with his own gust once again. Suicune could feel the blue pup's enthusiasm for the battle and it made him also excited. Of course he wasn't using all his power, he didn't want to discourage the pup but he wanted to give him an honest fight. He wanted to show the Riolu how to use the atmosphere and terrain in the battle. He decided to show the pup another strategy. The air turned cold and a ball looking almost white turned into a beam and he ran around the Riolu, creating a icy floor. Once that was done, he launched a Ice beam at the pup.

Ranger was amazed at just at how strong Suicune was. Ranger's gust didn't even budge him. Even though a normal pokemon probably would have gotten upset over losing the battle Ranger was actually enjoying it. He hadn't had many battles, and fighting now against one of the strongest pokemon ever was just amazing. He saw another gust coming towards him, just like the other one it was too big for him to dodge and it threw him backwards.
Once again he slowly got up and watched as Suicune ran around him creating an icy floor. He looked down not really knowing what he was planning. He then saw Suicune fire an icebeam at him. He tried to dodge, but the ice that surrounded him wouldn't allow it. So he used endure so that the icebeam wouldn't knock him out. Once again he slowly go back up.
Ranger only had one attack left that he hadn't tried, his force palm. Of course it was his strongest attack, but against Suicune it wouldn't do much if any damage. But he decided to use it anyway. He ran towards Suicune and jumped over the ice. He then ran quickly towards him as if he was going to hit him straight on, then by using his acrobatic skills he jumped over Suicune, tried to land on his back and aim a force palm to his neck. He wasn't sure if the strategy would confuse Suicune or even work, but he tried it anyway.

Figuring out the Pup's strategy, he blew another gust to knock Ranger off in direction. Suicune jumped out of the way and watched the Riolu to see what He did.
